How to Send Files

Sending and sharing files is at the heart of everything we do at SiteDrive. Let's discuss how it works.

How to Send Integrated Files

If a product is integrated with SiteDrive, we provide an end-to-end connection with that tool allowing for quick and easy sharing of files. Even better, files can be pushed automatically to the theme, builder, or plugin itself. Your recipients will also be notified when a new version is available thanks to syncing.

Sending integrated files is incredibly easy. Simply access your drive, choose a folder, or create a new one. Note that you can’t add files to the All Files folder. This is a catch all, so you will need to select My Folder that is added when the drive is created. You can also add your own folders.

Once you have picked a folder, select Click to Add or Drag and Drop. The SiteDrive finder will appear, and this is where it gets fun!

You will be able to see all available files, from any integrated product, and add those files directly to a drive. You can add as many files as you wish, and whoever has access to the drive will now be able to access them as well. Remember, thanks to syncing, recipients can be notified of new versions and push those versions automatically to the end theme, builder, or plugin.

How to Send Any Post Type

Even if a theme, builder, or plugin is not integrated with SiteDrive, you will most likely still be able to send the file with the only difference being that the file itself will not be pushed to the app directly.

Sending non-integrated files starts with going to the SiteDrive settings and adding support for the post type. If it is one of the standard WordPress post types (post and page), those are available out of the box, however some tools have their own custom post types configured to work within their tools. To add support for these files simply go to Settings > Integrations > Post > Manage.

How to Send Any Post Type with SiteDrive

You will see all the available custom post types for any WordPress product you have activated and can then select any post types you wish to support. Your recipient will need to have the WordPress product installed and add support for those post types in their SiteDrive. Once this is set up, transfers will be seamless. If they have synced, your recipient will also be notified when a new version is available

How to Send Any File

The final way to send files is to think beyond the WordPress ecosystem. This includes things like zip files, pdfs, or anything else. To add support for additional file types, even custom file types, go Settings > Configure.

You have complete control over the files, types, and support you wish to offer. Whether it's a template, custom post type, pdf, or more — with SiteDrive, you can send it all!
